Half a million pounds of phones recycled over festive period

Mobile phone recycling website SellMyMobile.com today revealed that consumers recycled more than £545,000 of old mobile phones between December 26th 2009 and 15th January 2010.
Seven of the top ten most popular handsets for recycling were from Nokia.
A total of 22,078 handsets were recycled, totalling the £545,000 in value - or around £25 per phone on average.
According to SellMyMobile.com, there's at least another £1.6bn worth sitting in drawers and cupboards across the country.
